MERU NATIONAL PARK


Mount Meru national park is located east of Meru, 350 km from Nairobi below the eastern slopes of Nyambene Hills. It’s a home to over 427 species of birds and some animals and its 870 suare kilometers in size

Animals in this park include:  elephant, hippopotamus, lion, leopard, cheetah, reticulated giraffe, and zebra, Lesser Kudu, duiker,  Dik Dik, buffalo, giraffes ,black and white rhinos, eland, Oryx, Impalas, hippo and crocodile, Bohor Reedbuck, Hartebeest, Python, Puff Udder and Cobra.

Bird species include: lilac breasted roller, eagles, vultures, storks and vultures, Somali ostrich, Kori bustard, crested francolins, yellow-necked spurfowls ,vulturine, Red-billed hornbills, marabou storks and superb starlings ,eagles, owls, kites, goshawks and sparrowhawks, Woodpeckers ,like pelicans, herons, hamerkops and  kingfisher
