Mountain Elgon is located 420 kms from Nairobi on the western border of Kenya with Uganda, in Trans-nzoia District in the Rift Valley Province. It’s a home to over 340 bird species. Mount Elgon National Park is at 2,200m above sea level. The peak - Wagagai (4,321m) is located in Uganda. But Koitoboss Peak is located in the park, and its 4,155m high.

Animals in this park include: Elephant, leopard, giant forest hog, bushbuck, buffalo, duiker, black and white colobus, blue monkeys, golden cat and Brazza monkeys among others

Bird species include: African crowned eagle, Ross’ turaco, red-fronted, parrot cinnamon-chested bee-eaters, Hartlaub's turaco and red-headed parrots
