Mount Kenya National Park is located on the eastern part of the Rift Valley, about 175km North-East of Nairobi. It is a World Heritage Site about 2800 in size. It home to over130 bird species and some animals. It has 3 peaks which are Batian 5199m high, Nelion 5,189m high and Lenana 4,985m high.

Animals in this park include Elephants, tree hyrax, white tailed mongoose, suni, black fronted duiker, mole rat, bushbucks, water buck, Elands, leopard, bongo, giant forest hog, rhino, Black and White Colobus, Sykes Monkeys, rock Hyrax, Greater galago, buffalo and Olive Baboon

Bird species include: lilac breasted roller, eagles, vultures, ostriches, storks and vultures, Somali ostrich, Kori bustard, crested francolins, yellow-necked spurfowls ,vulturine, Red-billed hornbills, marabou storks and superb starlings , owls, kites, goshawks and sparrowhawks, pelicans, herons, hamerkops , kingfisher ,Crowned hawk eagle, Jackson's francolin,  Abyssinian long-eared owl, Green ibis, African black duck, Ayres' hawk eagle, Rufous-breasted, great sparrow hawks, Scaly francolin, Silvery-cheeked hornbill, Hartlaub's turaco, red headed parrot, bronze-napped pigeon, Mackinder's eagle owl and Rupell's robin chat.

All year round

Roads: Drive from Nairobi going through Nanyuki-Isiolo via Siriman Track which is about 175 Kms
You can also use the Nyeri-Nanyuki road near Naro Moru.
Or pass via Chogoria on the Embu - Meru road which is about 150km.
By Air: Fly from Nairobi to Nanyuki airstrip
