Ngorongoro Forest Tented Lodge is an Eco-friendly gem; really charming and surrounded by pristine nature. Its architecture features beautifully thatched roofs that provide cool shelter even on extremely hot days. The facility is complete with a swimming pool and spa whose treats leave guests feeling 10 years younger.
The property’s quiet state makes it a perfect to relax after a long day’s adventure in the neighbouring Ngorongoro Conservation Area or Lake Manyara.
The bathroom of each semi-permanent tent is huge and features beautiful decorated with an African theme. Each unit has both indoor and outdoor showers. Similarly, the rooms are well-decorated and comfortable. There are no restrictions on electricity usage.
The cottages of this forest lodge offer guests a lovely sense of privacy as they are well spaced from each other. Their patio doors offer a great view of the valley.
Ernest the owner is a stand-up guy and takes great care of guests. He welcomes them back from game drives and greets them anytime he comes across them.
The downside of this lodge is that it is not on the rim crater, but thankfully, it is within 30 minutes’ drive from the entrance of Ngorongoro. Its proximity to Karatu town offers one the advantage of grabbing some snacks or pulling out some cash from ATMs if need arises.
Among the main activities you can do while here is a great walk to the elephant caves and a waterfall. Though relatively exhausting, it is absolutely refreshing.
